The Position


We’re looking for a Chief Operating Officer to join our team at our Head Office in Riverview, NB. As a key member of the senior leadership team, you will effectively and profitably manage the company’s day‑to‑day operations in support of established policies, goals, and objectives, providing leadership, strategic direction, and vision.


Key Responsibilities


Strategic Leadership



  • Partner with the CEO and executive team to establish short‑ and long‑term goals for the organization

  • Support strategic initiatives and market expansion opportunities

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the Board, offering operational and risk insights to inform decision‑making


Operational Oversight



  • Drive operational effectiveness by designing, implementing, and improving processes that support growth and efficiency

  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure alignment with strategic objectives

  • Collaborate across departments to streamline operations, resolve bottlenecks, and strengthen cross‑functional communication

  • Oversee real estate, lease agreements, and facilities management


Human Resources (HR) Oversight



  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of HR policies and practices aligned with strategic priorities

  • Lead the HR team on talent planning, recruitment, retention, compensation, and performance management

  • Foster a culture of engagement, inclusion, and high performance

  • Oversee the design and procurement Group Benefit Plan


Marketing Oversight



  • Lead the development and execution of marketing campaigns and sponsorships to support strategic priorities

  • Work closely with the Brand Specialist to ensure consistent, effective brand messaging across all platforms

  • Oversee the annual marketing budget and ensure effective allocation of resources


Sales Leadership



  • Lead, motivate, and support the sales team to consistently meet or exceed targets to align with strategic priorities

  • Partner with the sales team to develop and execute strategies to drive business growth
  • Monitor market trends and sales data to identify opportunities and informed decision‑making


Claims Oversight



  • Provide oversight to the company’s claims department

  • Offer coaching and career development support to the Claims Leader

  • Stay informed on industry trends and claims‑related developments to guide continuous improvement


Qualifications



  • Post‑secondary education in business administration or a related field

  • 5+ years of progressive leadership experience

  • Experience in the insurance industry is preferred

  • Proven experience leading cross‑functional teams, including claims, HR, marketing, and operations

  • Exceptional problem‑solving, analytical, and strategic thinking abilities

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills

  • Strong capability in change management and driving organizational improvements in fast‑paced environments

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including the Board, regulators, and external partners

  • Bilingualism (French and English) is an asset
