Odgers Berndtson

Following extensive consultation with the Board and staff, Girl Guides of Canada has created the position of Chief of Staff (COS) within the office of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The COS will serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and work with the Senior Leadership Team in developing and driving high-impact policies and strategies to realize the vision of GGC. The COS will foster a culture that values collaboration, the sharing of ideas and a constant focus on innovation and teamwork. Partnering with GGC network leaders, the COS will support the implementation of organizational projects and initiatives in achieving the national strategic plan. Barriers to progress will be identified and considered opportunities for change. Working closely with colleagues on the leadership team and the Board, the COS will identify and engage those relationships – with government, donors, alumni and industry – that will be partners in advancing the priorities of Girl Guides of Canada.

This newly created role requires a combination of leadership acumen, superb communication skills and a unique set of personal and professional attributes.

As the ideal candidate, you will have a bachelor’s degree in business, political science, communications, or a related field. You have held a leadership role overseeing the development of projects and initiatives in the not-for-profit industry – with a proven track record of navigating situations with competing priorities and highly invested stakeholders. Experience with the youth-serving sector and a demonstrated understanding of issues facing girls and women in Canada will be critical. You have superb communication and relationship building skills and are recognized for your ability to manage multiple projects, helping to establish clear priorities and timelines.

GGC offers the opportunity to work in a hybrid arrangement or remote with access to Toronto monthly.
