Habitat for Humanity Greater Toronto Area (GTA)is seeking a values-based, and senior finance leader to become its nextChief Financial Officer.As the largest Habitat affiliate of 48 in Canada, Habitat for Humanity GTA serves the City of Toronto, Region of Durham, Region of York, City of Brampton, and Town of Caledon. With the pending departure of the current Chief Financial Officer, retiring in June 2024 after close to 15 years of exemplary leadership, there now exists an opportunity for a new CFO to build on the organization’s legacy.

This is a rare opportunity for an innovative, purpose driven CFO to lead the Finance team of one of the most prominent and high-profile non-profit organizations in Canada.

Reporting to the CEO, the Chief Financial Officer is a key member of the executive team and and a trusted advisor to the CEO on organizational strategy, decision-making, and organizational leadership. The CFO is accountable for building, leading, coaching, developing and empowering a high-performing finance team, and in doing so, fostering an inclusive and thriving work environment. The CFO will be empowered to drive break-through strategies and innovations that evolve Habitat GTA’s i) homeownership model, ii) build models and ii) financing models to maximize impact and drive long-term sustainability.

As the ideal candidate, you are a high performing, and strategic senior finance executive with strong leadership and operational finance experience in or adjacent to real estate development or real estate development financing. You are committed to housing affordability and, preferably, bring experience working with purpose-driving organizations.

As a finance expert, you bring broad leadership experience in profit and loss management, audit, accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash flow forecasting, and enterprise risk management. You bring a strong inclination toward and experience optimizing operations and financial and performance reporting through technology. You are adept at leading change in a complex and dynamic environment and you take pride in working alongside energetic, mission-driven colleagues.
