Mama Fatma Turkish Cuisine

Mama Fatma Turkish Cuisine is a well-known restaurant in the Greater Toronto Area that provides an authentic Turkish culinary experience, using traditional Turkish recipes and fresh ingredients.

We are currently looking to hire one (1) experienced full-time (30-40 hours per week) Turkish Cuisine Chef.

The Chef will be primarily responsible for planning and directing food preparation and culinary activities according to Turkish cuisine and culture, as well as halal food standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

– Plan and direct all aspects of the kitchen, including food preparation and kitchen management.
– Oversee the work of a sous-chef and cooks.
– Innovate and develop new recipes.
– Design menus and uphold high-quality food standards.
– Regularly prepare and cook meals, including Turkish specialty dishes for guests or events.
– Collaborate with clients on arrangements for various banquets and unique events.
– Coordinate equipment procurement and maintenance.
– Estimate food and labor needs, as well as associated costs.
– Manage staff recruitment and hiring processes.

Requirements:

– Work experience: Must have a minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in cooking authentic Turkish cuisine.
– Language: English.
– Education: Not required.
– Have deep knowledge of Turkish cuisine and culture.
– Have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
– Have the ability to manage, train, and motivate staff.
