Role Description
We are seeking a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) for a full-time, on-site position located in Medicine Hat, AB. The role involves preparing financial statements, managing tax filings, and delivering comprehensive accounting and financial services to clients. The CPA will assist with compliance, provide strategic financial advice, and ensure accurate financial reporting while working closely with clients from various industries.

Essential Duties:
Manage the corporate year end work for Notice to Reader and Assurance.
Engagements including file preparation, financial statements, file review and both personal and corporate tax planning.
Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and relevant regulatory requirements.
Examine financial statements and records to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
Prepare and file personal and corporate tax returns, ensuring a timely and accurate submission.
Assist in tax planning, preparation, and filing for individuals and businesses to optimize financial outcomes.
Assist clients with financial planning budgeting and forecasting.
Conduct audits and internal reviews to ensure financial accuracy and regulatory compliance.
Perform periodic audits of financial assignments and provide recommendations for improvements.
Assist clients with financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting to enhance operational efficiency.
Work closely with Principals to identify opportunities for process improvement and establish best practices in accounting.
Stay up to date with changes in tax laws and accounting standards, advising clients and internal teams accordingly.
Collaborate with other employees to provide financial insights and recommendations.

Qualifications
Proficiency in Financial Statements and Tax Preparation
Certified Public Accounting (CPA) certification is required
Knowledge of Finance and Accounting principles
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Lifelong learning and ability to stay updated on accounting regulations and industry trends

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA Certification in Alberta, or the ability to becoming designated in Alberta is required.
Minimum three (3) years of experience in accounting, auditing, or tax preparation is preferred.
