Casual Security Guards
Job Description
Barber Collins Security is looking for several casual security guards to work temporary assignments with the flexibility to work days , afternoons and nights during the week in the Kitchener Waterloo , Cambridge and Guelph area. Preference given to applicants who have their own car and maximum flexibility.
Responsibilities
- Protect company's property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment.
- Observe for signs of crime or disorder and investigate disturbances.
- Take accurate notes of unusual occurrences.
- Monitor and control access at building entrances and vehicle gates.
- Patrolling of the facility.
- Access control for the facility/area.
- Ensuring that the facility's safety and emergency procedures are followed in response to site emergencies.
- Training and following direction and guidance from Site Supervisor.
- Monitoring all persons entering the facility
- Demonstrating judgement, common sense, and decision-making ability, particularly when required to take charge and direct others in emergencies or other incidents.
Skills
- Proven work experience as a security guard or relevant position.
- Ability to operate detection systems and emergency equipment.
- Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols.
- Surveillance skills and detail orientation.
- Integrity and professionalism.
- Ability to operate security equipment/systems, computers, radios, phones.
- Meticulous record keeping, report writing, observation skills.

Pay: $17.75-$19.50 per hour
