Position Summary…

The as Senior Manager, Product – Private Brands leads a team of Product Developers and Product Launch Managers to establish and deliver the private brand growth strategy for an entire SBU in Fresh, Grocery, Consumables, or Health & Wellness. This customer obsessed role will understand both market environments and Walmart coupling with a wide range of data to identify growth opportunities to win in market share, sales, and profitability.

Key Accountability/Responsibility

Strategic Roadmap for Product Development – attend Tradeshows and spend time evaluating Walmart and Competitive retailer offers (B&M and online) to build a robust understanding of customer and market dynamics in Private Brands. Using market insights, product trend information and working in collaboration with Merchandising Leadership, the Senior PM will build/manage a 3-yr product development roadmap for the SBU that aligns to strategic focus areas within the Category.

Product Execution – Guides product managers and product developers in bringing products to market in a timely and efficient manner utilizing product launch managers, builds strategic vendor partnerships, develops go to market pricing/promo/modular strategies, coordinates with sourcing and replenishment to ensure product availability, and influences packaging while upholding our brand standards. Brand Governance: Manage, maintain product adherence to brand positioning, brand guardrails, and customer value proposition to drive brand loyalty and equity.

Financial Accountability: Responsible for building annual operating plans and executing new product roadmaps each year. Utilizes available financial and management information systems to monitor sales results and profitability and recommend actions to improve in market product performance. Leads monthly business review performance summaries to evaluate how well the portfolio is performing and identifies areas that need to be addressed. Works with the Merchandising leadership to build plans to drive the Walmart Brands portfolio within their P&L.

Driving Efficiencies: Establish framework and continuous improvement loop on product lifecycle through inception to exit. Utilizes an EDLC mindset to enable tools and drive process improvement to increase efficiency of time-to-market of private brand business. Incorporates customer feedback into product development cycle for the team.

Team Leadership & Development: Leads a team of Product Managers, Product Developers, and Product Launch Managers to create product strategies and develop roadmaps for executions. Ensures team consistently delivers on products that will delight customers while ensuing on-brand product experience. Drives performance culture by removing barriers to ensure that team delivers against expectations. Talent Development: Responsible for associate engagement, development, and ensuring associates have current development and succession plans in place. Provides coaching and direction to direct reports. Mentor other Walmart Brand cross functional team members as required

Brand Ambassador: Enable corporate strategic initiatives (i.e. sustainability, community outreach, DEI) as it relates to private brand products to improve brand perception and omni product experience. Leverage portfolio to drive brand awareness and customer trust and loyalty through internal and external communication.
