Responsibilities
- Report to the Sector Sales Director and oversee day‑to‑day depot support activities as well as business development activities for new and existing key accounts.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities by contacting potential customers, exploring possibilities, and introducing new capabilities and instrumentation that meet customer needs. Maintain active target lists and regularly travel to client sites and trade shows.
- Prepare proposals and quotations in collaboration with Management, Client Services and the Sector Lead, screening potential deals, assessing pricing and competitive options, and consolidating internal input to develop the best approach for customers.
- Develop negotiation strategies by examining risks, estimating client goals and buying criteria, and coordinating feedback on client requirements. Integrate contract requests with lab operations to maximize proposal success.
- Collaborate closely with Client Services to ensure inquiries are followed up and documented, keeping the pipeline of incoming work current and at budget‑sufficient levels.
- Conduct market research and engage in professional associations, trade shows and networking activities to elevate Eurofins’ profile, identify industry trends, and recommend new products and services.
- Act as the main point of contact for clients picking up and dropping off samples at the depot, supporting the Project Management team with sales‑related customer service inquiries and sampling supplies. This role is based at the Eurofins Environment Testing Canada – Kingston Depot, located at 608 Norris Court.
Qualifications
- 3‑5 years of consultative sales experience, preferably in a technical sales role.
- Track record of successful business development and demonstrated ability to plan and execute a growth strategy.
- Participation in a recognized sales training curriculum.
- Strong presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Goal‑oriented and competitive nature.
- Ability to work flexible or extended hours as required to meet proposal deadlines and close deals.
- University or College degree in chemistry or a related field.
- Excellent skills with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
- Regular travel within the defined sales territory is required; candidates must have access to a reliable vehicle, a valid driver’s licence and will be reimbursed for business‑related vehicle use.
