Business Data Analyst (Contract Position)

Hybrid position, a few days / week onsite in Toronto
Looking for a solid Business Analyst with a strong DATA background
Roles and Responsibilities
A successful business analyst should fulfill the following duties and responsibilities:
• Partnering with cross-functional teams across the firm to deliver data & reporting that is accessible, reliable, and timely.
• Developing and maintaining an intimate knowledge of the business and data across the firm’s platforms.
• Owns the business analyst process from start to finish, including design, data requirements, verification and implementation.
• Creating and managing a product backlog, team capacity and scheduling to ensure optimal delivery.
• Provides recommendations in approaches to delivery, and in resolving complex problems.
• Monitoring and evaluating new feature progress at each stage of the process.
• Considers the broader business goals and ensures product alignment as necessary.
• Utilizes necessary project management and business analysis techniques as required.
Skills and Qualifications
To carry out the role of a business analyst successfully, a candidate should possess the following skills and qualifications:
• 3 to 5 years’ experience in business analysis and data analytics, data warehousing and business intelligence reporting in a Senior Business Analyst or Product Owner capacity.
• Good working knowledge of the Insurance industry.
• Proficient in SQL, Excel, Power BI.
• Working knowledge of Finance and Accounting Principles.
• Clear and concise presentation skills.
• Data Analytics certification as asset.
• University degree in the field of Business, Technology, Computer science, Statistics, or equivalent work experience.
• Outstanding leadership skills.
• Bilingual (English and French) an asset.
