Job Summary
Our Quebec City, QC branch is currently seeking an Accounts Payable Associate to join our team. We are looking for skilled, experienced, and highly motivated individuals with a strong work ethic who enjoy working in a team‑oriented environment. This is an open position.
Description
Reporting to the Accounts Payable Supervisor (AP), the Accounts Payable Associate will perform various accounts payable and related tasks and procedures in a high‑volume environment to ensure that supplier invoices are timely posted, approved, and paid.
Job Type: Full‑time, Permanent
Reporting to: Accounts Payable Supervisor
Salary: $50 000/year
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage supplier or vendor workflows
- Codes and displays invoices/payment vouchers to correct GL accounts in the system
- Ensure that invoices are submitted to the landing craft operator according to the authority manual and follow up in case of delays in approvals.
- Investigate and request approval for discrepancies (above the threshold) between invoices and purchase orders/packaging
- Review, reconcile, and investigate suppliers’ account statements
- Assist in the review, reporting, and implementation of accounts payable aging reports
- Assist with supplier payment cycles to ensure compliance with payment terms
- Assist with the timely end‑of‑month closing of the AP
- Assist with expense reports and other account reconciliations
- Perform other assigned tasks
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant professional experience in AP
- Fluency in French is required; professional proficiency in English is an asset.
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounts payable principles
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams and Outlook
- Great attention to detail and precision
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Self‑motivated with excellent time management
- Sense of urgency and responsibility for the task
- Experience in NetSuite, an asset
