Role Description
This is a part-time, on-site role for an Assistant Chef at our Oakville, ON location. As an Assistant Chef, you will collaborate with the head chef to assist in food preparation, cooking, and plating of dishes to ensure high-quality meals are served to customers. Responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, complying with food safety standards, and managing ingredient inventory effectively. You will play an essential role in upholding the café's reputation for delicious offerings and outstanding customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
Experience in food preparation, cooking techniques, and plating
Knowledge of kitchen hygiene, food safety standards, and inventory management
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work effectively in a team, handle fast-paced environments, and follow instructions
Good communication skills and a customer-focused mindset
Prior experience in a restaurant or cafe setting is an asset
Formal culinary training or certification is a plus
