Halifax Water is hiring for the job of Asset Management Engineer. This is a regular opportunity in the Engineering and Technology Services Department and has full time hours.What the Asset Management Team does: Delivers asset management, and infrastructure master planning projects.Leads investigations to confirm levels of service, fill data gaps, and determine asset condition.Administers key data collection programs that inform work done by other departmentsCoordinates annual capital budget development.Provides regular reporting on Halifax Water’s assets (state of good repair and planning for our future services).Supports Halifax Water’s response to customers’ service expectations and growth demands.As an Asset Management Engineer, you will: Support the asset management program including the condition assessment program, advising on asset renewal needs, defining priorities for the capital budget and assisting with Asset Management Roadmap implementation activities. Work collaboratively on methods for predicting reinvestment needs by asset class.May be engaged in helping with enhancements to the sewer inspection program.Helps with addressing data and process gaps and participates in assessing asset management technologies. Acts as an asset management spokesperson, visits other facilities, and liaises with staff throughout the organization.To do this job, you need:A post-secondary education in Engineering (civil, municipal, environmental, or equivalent).

A Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation. Five years of progressively responsible related engineering experience with a focus on municipal engineering or asset management initiatives.Supervisory experience or experience coordinating multi-disciplined teams.To be willing to obtain an Asset Management training certification such as IAM, PEMAC, IPWEA.A valid NS driver’s license.
