Architectural Estimator
Job Description
We are currently recruiting for an Architectural Estimator on behalf of our client, a recognized player in the design and supply of custom-engineered, high-performance ceiling and wall systems for the North American commercial construction market.
This is a technical estimating role, The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering accurate, competitive, and compliant project quotations while supporting outside sales teams and ensuring smooth project handoffs.
We are looking for a candidate with deep product knowledge, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Qualified candidates are invited to submit their resume along with a brief summary of their experience estimating custom architectural products in the Canadian market. Applications without relevant experience will not be considered.
Job Summary
You will provide well-defined technical solutions, apply sound cost assumptions, and support project execution from quotation through closeout.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze architectural drawings and reflected ceiling plans (RCPs) to determine material scope across all product lines.
- Perform detailed quantity take-offs and apply appropriate pricing strategies to ensure accurate and competitive estimates.
- Document project-specific compliance requirements, including acoustical performance, fire ratings, LEED, WELL, FSC, VOC, EPDs, CSA, ASTM, and other testing standards.
- Identify and evaluate scope elements that may impact cost, including omissions or unspecified details.
- Provide value-engineered alternatives to optimize cost efficiency and project outcomes.
- Collect and interpret data to continuously improve estimate accuracy related to materials, labor, and timelines.
- Collaborate with the Estimating Manager to align quotation strategies and ensure consistency.
- Deliver estimates within required timelines and prepare comprehensive bid documentation.
- Coordinate quotation, negotiation, and project closeout strategies with sales teams and clients.
- Prepare submittals, samples, and technical documentation.
- Proactively communicate delivery schedules and project timeline expectations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Architecture, Construction Technology, or a related technical field.
- 5–10 years of experience in estimating within architectural, construction, or manufacturing industries.
- Extensive experience in custom product environments, including custom wood products.
- Experience working with sales teams, general contractors, and distributors in the North American construction market.
- Strong understanding of commercial construction and bidding processes.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural drawings.
- Ability to interpret compliance criteria such as LEED, FSC, VOC, EPD, CSA, and ASTM.
- Strong independent problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, AutoCAD, BlueBeam, or On-Screen Take-Off software.
- Proven track record of success in estimating and project support.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,934.27-$80,460.47 per year
