We are seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to join our HPS operations based out of Melbourne, VIC. Reporting into the Field Service Manager, the purpose of the role is to service and install across a variety of industrial solutions. The work is diverse and challenging and it involves Honeywell SCADA, DCS’s and safety systems along with advanced software applications e.g., plant historians.
There may be occasional travel required to remote locations, including offshore locations. The successful applicant will require being on call on a rotating roster. Although some routine service work is involved, a large portion of the workload will involve upgrading customer sites from previous Honeywell control systems to current technologies and the programming and commissioning of small systems on new installations. On occasions, helping project engineers on large projects will be required Key Responsibilities Responsible for technical delivery of Control Systems preventative and remedial maintenance Implementation of Control Systems projects, typically using Honeywell TPS and/or Experion controller and supervisory systems, and/or third-party PLC controllers Implement projects using Honeywell Tools and processes, provide input for constant improvement of processes Programming of controllers in a variety of languages Maintain, install and service DCS/SCADA packages and other software in the MES layer Maintain, install and service Industrial control equipment on a variety of industrial sites Customer reporting and meeting planned service requirements Comply with Honeywell engineering processes tools and methodologies Internal and external liaison with including Service and project progress reporting.
Identifying and acting upon, sales and service opportunities Respond to customer call outs in a timely manner and attend customer site on request and respond to needs Key Experience, Qualifications and Capabilities Degree qualification in an engineering discipline, Electrical, Mechatronics, Electronic, Instrumentation and Chemical Engineering – preferred Valid unrestricted driver’s license – mandatory The successful applicant will be required to be On call on a rotating roster Preferably 10 years of experience in delivering SCADA, DCSs, and Safety Systems along with advanced software applications e.g., plant historians Experience with setting up and maintaining Networks – preferred In depth knowledge of industrial instrumentation & control equipment Good understanding of the financial aspects of engineering Exceptional PC skills and knowledge of Microsoft software packages Outstanding communications skills.
