Cascadia Metals is seeking a reliable, motivated Administrative Assistant to join our Edmonton team. This role supports the day-to-day efficiency of the office and provides administrative assistance across all departments. As the go-to resource for administrative requests and projects, the successful candidate will enjoy a variety of tasks and be comfortable stepping in wherever needed.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers and respond to inquiries in person, by phone, and by email.
  • Process Accounts Receivable: deposits, credit card payments, apply payments in Steel Plus, and release orders upon payment.
  • Provide customer statements and support AR-related questions.
  • Act as the branch Accounts Payable contact: pre-approve freight/office invoices and prepare weekly packages for manager approval.
  • Support customer service and sales: process POs, create sales orders, provide order updates, and complete inventory lookups.
  • Order office and warehouse supplies as needed.
  • Prepare end-of-day outbound shipment report and ensure freight costs are allocated accurately across orders.
  • Provide administrative support to staff, managers, and sales representatives.
  • Complete general office duties (copying, scanning, courier, mail receiving/distribution, inter-branch communication).
  • Collect and submit expense reports for the office and designated personnel.

Requirements

  • 1+ year of experience in an administrative, receptionist, or customer service role.
  • Post-secondary education preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively.
