Job Description<br> We are seeking a skilled Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles and practices, with experience in accounts receivable, accounts payable, financial reporting, and inventory. The Accountant will ensure the monthly financial statements and other key periodic reports are produced timely and accurately.<br><br>
Duties and Responsibilities:<ul><li>Prepare and maintain monthly financial statements for review with the Finance Controller.</li><li>Create journal entries and accrual entries to support the monthly financial reporting process.</li><li>Adhere closely to month-end and year-end schedules to allow timely financial reporting for the management team.</li><li>Prepare weekly vendor payment schedules to ensure all appropriate payments are included in each payment run along with all invoices and approval documentation for the Finance Controller's review.</li><li>Complete month-end reconciliations including fixed assets and prepaid amortization.</li><li>Prepare & reconcile year-end schedules as working papers for the external accountant.</li><li>Safeguard controls in daily financial transactions by verifying all appropriate approvals and documentation are present.</li><li>Reconcile bank accounts, credit card accounts, and other balance sheet accounts as assigned.</li><li>Maintain AP and AR accounts to ensure periodic reporting to the management team is accurate.</li><li>Liaise with Operations and Purchasing teams to address inventory receiving discrepancies and landed costs.</li><li>Support implementations of process and procedure improvements.</li></ul>
<br>Skills, knowledge, qualifications, and experience:<br>Education, Qualifications, and Experience:<ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with major in Accounting, or other related fields.</li><li>3+ years of accounting experience in a wholesale or consumer-packaged goods industry.</li><li>Experienced working in a fast-paced team environment.</li><li>Working towards a CPA designation is an asset.</li></ul>
<br>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:<ul><li>Knowledgeable in accounting principles and regulations.</li><li>Solid experience working with MS office including Excel, Outlook, and Word.</li><li>Experience working with ERP systems, experience with SAP B1 is an asset.</li><li>Data entry management and reporting skills.</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills.</li><li>Well organized and deadline-oriented.</li><li>High attention to detail and good analytical skills.</li><li>Ability to work collaboratively on cross-function projects and assignments.</li><li>Ability to work with sensitive financial information and maintain high level of information security and confidentiality.</li></ul>
