Position Overview: We are currently seeking qualified and motivated individuals to join our team as Accident Benefits Assistants. As an Accident Benefits Assistant at Preszler Injury Lawyers, you will play a crucial role in providing support to our lawyers and working collaboratively with our paralegals, and legal assistants.

Responsibilities:

  • Completion and submission of all OCF forms
  • Regular communication with clients and adjusters for advocation of benefits
  • Written correspondence with clients, adjusters, opposing counsel
  • Handling incoming correspondence at the direction of the assigned lawyer
  • Preparing LAT Applications and LAT Case Conference Summary
  • Requesting medical records via Medchart – Section 33, EUO etc.
  • Tracking outstandings, approvals, denials in TM, FileVine
  • Notifying client of upcoming IEs
  • Arranging transportation where necessary
  • Diarizing/calendarizing Case Conferences, LAT hearings, production deadlines in PIL Calendar
  • Reviewing medicals, accident benefits files
  • Docketing all tasks using Soluno
  • Updating AB tracker where appropriate
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of Accident Benefits experience, either in Personal Injury Plaintiff Law or Insurance
  • Thorough knowledge of the SABS
  • Paralegal license is an asset
  • Completion of Paralegal Diploma is an asset
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
  • Previous experience with our Legal software (Filevine, Soluno, Medchart) is an asset
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Knowledge of Ontario legal procedures and documentation.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
