What you'll do


Responsibilities



  • Provides strategic and operational leadership in academic planning, budgeting, operations, and quality assurance across all lines of business.

  • Ensures integration across academic planning, operations, and quality assurance functions and works with Academic senior leadership to ensure alignment of academic programming with NSCCs vision, mission and mandate, strategic priorities, provincial mandate, and quality standards.

  • Leads integrated academic planning and operations, encompassing program mix planning, academic resource allocation and budgeting, academic operations, and provides oversight of the academic quality framework and system to ensure consistency, excellence, equity and continuous improvement in academic delivery.

  • Supports alignment of academic planning processes with and business and strategic planning processes.

  • Provides direct oversight of the Manager, Academic Operations, Manager, Academic Quality Assurance, Academic Planning Analyst and Financial Analyst, Academic.

  • Ensures cohesive execution of academic initiatives and continuous improvement across the planning, operations, and quality domains.

  • Leads cross-functional teams to optimize academic systems and processes to support data and evidence informed decision‑making and play a critical role in enabling a unified academic system that supports sustainable, equitable, and high‑quality program delivery across all lines of business.

Qualifications And Occupational Experience



  • The minimum educational qualification for this position is a Master's degree in Education, Business Administration, Public Policy, or a related field. Additional training and/or certifications in teaching, adult education, or diversity, equity and inclusion would be an asset.

  • You have a minimum of seven (7) years of progressive leadership experience in post-secondary academic planning, operations or quality assurance.

  • You possess:


    • excellent strategic planning and project management skills.

    • strong quantitative and qualitative research, data and analysis and evidence-informed decision making skills

    • proven experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex academic systems

    • advanced proficiency in academic systems and digital tools (e.g., SIS, ERP, BI tools)

    • experience with academic systems and governance processes
