As Development Manager, you’ll be involved in the development of various exciting mixed-use/residential projects throughout the GTA and resort communities across the full development life-cycle, from site acquisition, entitlements, construction, through to post-construction warranty services. This is an exciting opportunity to take your career to the next level, while working on exciting landmark projects.
As Development Manager you will:
- Lead on day-to-day activities throughout the full lifecycle of a development project from acquisition to construction.
- Collaborate across all internal departments, including Marketing, Finance, Investments, and Construction.
- Organize, attend and lead consultant meetings, prepare minutes and track consultant progress.
- Coordinating third party consultants including architects, engineers and planners to develop the project design from schematic to working drawings.
- Prepare all required planning and permitting applications, internal reports, and related materials.
- Manage day-to-day budgets, process invoices and related accounting paperwork.
- Working with the investment team to maintain project budgets and proformas, to ensure ongoing health of projects.
- Overseeing and delivering quarterly reporting and monthly cash flows for investors and internal stakeholder
- Provide general support as required to development team on other projects.
Our ideal candidate meets the following criteria:
- Minimum 5+ years of professional work experience leading/managing real estate development projects.
- Previous experience with a range of residential/mix use projects and experience with development planning.
- University degree in architecture, engineering, or related discipline.
- Proven ability to work effectively with all stakeholders including, architects, engineers, contractors, partners and city officials.
- Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Experience interpreting documents such as architectural & land use drawings, technical building reports, zoning-by-laws, etc…
- Highly developed people skills to be a team player, demonstrating ability to build and maintain relationships across all teams.
- Analytical/creative approach using sound reasoning and rational thought int eh decision making process.
- Exceptional communication skills required, verbal and written.
- Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
- Proficient with Microsoft 365.
- Experience working with AutoCAD, Photoshop, Bluebeam or Google Sketchup, an asset.
