Software Governance Consultant / Contract Management (Contract Position)

Must be eligible to work in Canada
Hybrid position, 3days/week onsite in Toronto
Roles and Responsibilities:
– Review and analyze existing software contracts to identify opportunities for optimization and cost reduction.
– Develop and implement strategies to improve license management practices, ensuring compliance with licensing agreements and minimizing overspending.
– Conduct market analysis to identify cost-effective software solutions and alternative vendors.
– Assist in the development and execution of exit strategies from vendors, including contract renegotiation or termination.
– Work with internal stakeholders to reduce concentration risk by diversifying software vendors and solutions.
– Provide guidance and recommendations to senior management on software governance best practices and strategies for optimization.
– Networking and negotiating with suppliers to ensure price adjustments and access to best costs.
Research new suppliers.
Required skills / qualifications:
Must be proficient in MS Suite especially PowerPoint, Excel, and SharePoint
Must-have Skills/Experiences and/or Education, certifications, qualifications, designations:
– Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, computer science, or a related field.
– 5+yrs of Proven experience in contract management, software licensing, and vendor management.
– 5+yrs of Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex contracts and financial data.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
– Knowledge of software market trends, licensing models, and vendor landscape.
– Experience with software asset management tools and practices is preferred.
