The Opportunity
Reporting to the President and CEO, this is a high-impact role which cuts through to being the custodian for providing our clients with customer focused insights about the service offerings, while fostering long-term client relationships. This role will manage the development and implementation of short-term and long-term insight-based customer strategies, and apply critical thinking to facilitate, develop and implement comprehensive strategic business plans for our customers. Someone who is a self-starter and possesses great attention to detail and a strong knack of numbers, this role would translate into a key player within the BI space.
Insights
- Liaising with senior management teams on the retail and vendor side to leverage insights and analytics to identify business trends as well as make strategic business recommendations.
- Preparing analysis, customer forecasts and customer P&L.
- Developing the Business Analytics performance measurement standard to track the ongoing adoption and use of the reports and dashboards.
- Tracking documentation and prioritization of requests for the BI Team.
- Developing the data visualization and user experience guidelines to ensure the Business Analytics reports and dashboards are presented in a meaningful and accessible manner that allows the user to easily understand and interpret the data.
- Driving Business Intelligence & Analytics strategies, programs, pilots, and implementations.
- Leading development, enhancement, and optimization of Analytics Programs including business cases for investment.
- Leading the team in developing tools, dashboards, and processes to manage programs.
- Determining effectiveness of customer pricing, promotional strategies, and initiatives.
Technology
- Overseeing the technology processes, ensuring consistency and maintainability of existing applications by creating, maintaining, and enforcing standards/procedures for implementing technical solutions.
- Working with the Technology team to analyze various technical solutions and provide improvements and recommendations based on technical and financial merits for the company portfolio.
- Working closely with Technology team to ensure data integrity and quality.
- Partnering with Technology Team to ensure the continuous enhancement and development of Business analytics tools, servers, and platforms.
Qualifications & Experience
- Strong experience of 6-8 years in managing Data and Business Insights to drive exceptional customer & client experience.
- 5+ years in Consumer Package Goods Industry is essential.
- Demonstrated experience working with large data sets ideally across a broad portfolio of measures and sophisticated data modeling.
- Strong computer proficiency and specifically experience and high proficiency with sophisticated analytical tools/ systems.
- Strong understanding of Canadian and American Retail Channels.
- Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to influence clients and internal business Partners with data-driven insights.
- Experience presenting to Retailers and Senior Leadership teams.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team in a very fast paced environment.
- Experience in meeting strict deadlines.
- Strong business/political ability to work diplomatically with clients & internal stakeholders.
- Demonstrated effectiveness in working in ambiguous and challenging situations.
