Our consulting client is seeking an SAP Transportation Management Lead to join their team. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of transportation management process, including order management, freight management, and carrier selection, experience leading projects related to transportation management, including system implementations and process improvements and experience leading projects related to transportation management, including system implementations and process improvements which will align successfully with the organization.
SAP Transportation Management Lead – Order Management, Freight Management
Location: Montreal/Remote – travel required for on-site work
Term: 6-month contract (highly extendable)
Role Summary: An SAP Transportation Management Lead specializing in Order Management and Freight Management – responsible for overseeing the implementation, configuration, and optimization of the SAP Transportation Management (TM) module.
Key Responsibilities:
Order Management:
- Configure and optimize SAP TM for order management processes, including order capture, allocation, and scheduling.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate SAP TM with order management systems and other relevant applications.
- Develop and maintain order management processes to ensure efficient and accurate order fulfillment.
Freight Management:
- Configure SAP TM for freight management processes, including carrier selection, rate determination, and freight settlement.
- Collaborate with carriers and logistics providers to establish and maintain transportation contracts and agreements.
- Monitor and track freight movements to ensure on-time delivery and compliance with service level agreements.
SAP TM Configuration and Support:
- Configure SAP TM to support order management and freight management processes, including master data setup and system customization.
- Provide support and training to end users on SAP TM functionality and best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to SAP TM configuration and integration with other systems.
Process Optimization:
- Identify opportunities to improve order management and freight management processes and implement best practices.
- Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to develop and implement process improvements.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of transportation management processes and identify areas for improvement.
Carrier Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain relationships with carriers and logistics providers to ensure reliable and cost-effective transportation services.
- Negotiate transportation rates and contracts to optimize transportation costs and service levels.
